Lee Rhiannon

Lee is The Greens Senator for NSW and will speak on the closing panel Building the Left, Uniting the fightback. She has supported and taken part in numerous social movements from the anti-apartheid protests in the 1970s, protests against the US military base at Pine Gap and more recently the BDS campaign for Palestinian rights. In parliament she has been a long-time campaigner against corporate political donations.

Lee is currently seeking pre-selection to re-contest her position in the Senate at the next federal election. Greens members in NSW have rallied around Lee in defence of grassroots democracy in the party and the ability of members to bind the way MPs vote, as well over her opposition to supporting Turnbull’s Gonski 2.0 schools package.
