Sophie is a member of the Sydney Uni Branch Committee of the National Tertiary Education Union, which has called nine days of strike action so far in its ongoing enterprise bargaining campaign. She is also a trans rights activists and has been involved in the campaign for gender affirmation leave, which has won 30 days paid leave at Sydney Uni as well as similar entitlements at other universities.
